CANCELLATION OR CHANGES BY FREEBIKE GUIDE
The safety of participants remains our priority.
In the event of adverse weather conditions, hazards on the terrain or any other situation that could compromise the safety of the group, the guide may change the route, adapt the activity, postpone or cancel it.
If Freebike Guide decides to cancel the activity and no reasonable alternative is possible, the activity may be rescheduled for another date or refunded.
PARTICIPANT SAFETY & RIDING LEVEL
Each participant must honestly communicate their technical level, fitness level and experience so that the guide can provide an appropriate activity and route.
The guide may change the route, exercises or programme if a participant’s level, terrain conditions or any other circumstances make the original programme unsuitable.
Each participant agrees to follow the guide’s instructions throughout the activity.
LIABILITY
Mountain biking, BMX and E-Biking involve inherent risks, including falls, collisions, injuries and property damage.
Each participant remains responsible for their riding, speed and behaviour. They must remain in control of their bike and adapt their riding to their ability, the terrain, the conditions and other trail users.
Participants must follow the instructions and safety guidelines provided by the guide.
Freebike Guide takes reasonable measures to provide appropriate supervision and guidance for each activity. The responsibilities of Freebike Guide and participants remain subject to applicable law.
BIKE & EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
Each participant must have a bike that is in good working condition and suitable for the activity booked.
Brakes, tyres, wheels, drivetrain, suspension and other safety-related components must be in good working order before departure.
Freebike Guide reserves the right to refuse participation or adapt the activity if a participant’s bike or equipment presents a risk to their safety or the safety of the group.
CHILDREN AGED 5–7
A mountain bike in good working condition, hardtail or full-suspension, appropriately sized for the child and suitable for the planned lesson.
CHILDREN AGED 8–10
A mountain bike in good working condition, correctly sized and suitable for the riding and terrain planned during the lesson.
TEENAGERS
For lessons and tours involving trail riding, the bike must be suitable for the terrain and in good working condition.
When using an E-Bike in Switzerland, participants must comply with the legal requirements applicable to their age and the category of E-Bike being used.
E-BIKE FOOD TOUR
The E-Bike Food Tour takes place on an E-Bike. The bike must be in good working condition and suitable for a full day of riding in the mountains.
Guiding and the pre-arranged menus and drinks included in the package are covered by the stated price. The included menus and drinks are determined in advance. Any à la carte orders, additional drinks or extras are at the participant’s own expense.
Alcohol must be consumed in moderation. Each participant remains responsible for ensuring that they are fit to continue riding after consuming alcohol.
The guide may ask a participant not to continue the ride if they consider that the participant’s condition presents a risk to themselves or the group.
MTB MECHANICS & SELF-RELIANCE
For trailside mechanics sessions, we recommend participating with your own mountain bike and the equipment you normally carry.
This allows you to learn directly on the equipment you use when riding, better understand the specific features of your bike and apply the techniques learned in real-life situations.
PERSONAL EQUIPMENT
Wearing a helmet suitable for cycling is mandatory during all Freebike Guide activities.
Depending on the activity, the participant’s level and the terrain, Freebike Guide may also require protective equipment or other specific gear.
Any specific equipment requirements will be communicated to the client before the activity.
RESPECT FOR NATURE & OTHER TRAIL USERS
Each participant agrees to respect the mountains, trails and other trail users.
• No litter may be left in the natural environment.
• Shortcuts and cutting trails are not permitted.
• Other trail users must be respected, and speed must be adapted when passing or approaching others.
• Local rules and any trail access restrictions must be respected.
